Specialist works carried out by Rudders & Paynes Ltd can be covered by our standard long-term guarantees, subject to our standard terms & conditions.

Guarantee periods are as follows:

  • Chemical damp-proof courses – 20 year guarantee
  • Timber treatment – 20 year guarantee
  • Structural waterproofing to basements – 10 year guarantee

Claims under Rudders & Paynes Guarantees

In the unlikely event that you need to make a claim under your guarantee, please just contact us. Please remember that in order to make a claim you must have the original Guarantee Certificate, our report and any associated paperwork. (Please see terms and conditions)

Rudders & Paynes Ltd are insured against valid claims under our guarantees, public liability and remedial treatment industry specific cover by Specialist Underwriters at Lloyds.


Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd (GPI) is a UK based general insurer authorised & regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Rudders & Paynes can offer GPI insurance backed guarantees for specialist works; guarantee periods are the same as our own guarantees. Property Care Association

The ‘PCA Promise’ is a new type of warranty that covers contracts placed with PCA members for, damp proofing, timber preservation, structural waterproofing and structural maintenance. This is for domestic premises where the contract price (including VAT) is more than £250 and up to £50,000. The PCA Promise meets the criteria required by TrustMark.

Under the scheme, the Association gives blanket coverage to its contractor members, thereby enabling us to offer a guarantee on behalf of the PCA to cover our customers for work in progress and deposits.

There is no additional cost to our customers for this guarantee. The PCA Promise is in addition to customers’ statutory rights. (Terms and conditions apply) More information is available at www.property-care.org.
